Privacy policy

What we store

• Your account: your name, email address and a sign-in identifier from edesy's sign-in service.
• What you write: resumes, cover letters, saved job postings, their earlier versions, and your design choices.
• Usage counts: how many AI suggestions, job matches and imports you use each month, so we can apply plan limits. We store the count and token totals, not the prompts.
• Payments: the Razorpay order and payment IDs, amount and status. We never see or store card or UPI details.

Files you import

When you upload a PDF or Word resume, we extract its text, turn it into editable sections, and discard the file. The original upload is not kept.

AI processing

AI features send the relevant resume text, and any job posting you paste, to Anthropic to generate suggestions. Anthropic processes this data to provide the service to us and does not use it to train its models. We only send content when you ask for a suggestion, match or import.

Sign-in and payments

Sign-in is handled by edesy's account service (Keycloak), which may offer signing in with Google. Payments are processed by Razorpay under its own privacy policy.

Public share links

Resumes are private by default. If you turn on a share link, anyone with the link can view that resume. Search engines are asked not to index it unless you choose to allow indexing. Turning the link off removes public access immediately.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can access, correct and erase your personal data. In Settings you can download everything we hold about you as a file and delete your account, which permanently removes your resumes, cover letters, jobs and usage records. Payment records we are legally required to retain are kept for as long as the law requires.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and protect forms. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Security and retention

Data is stored on servers we operate, sent over encrypted connections, and backed up nightly to encrypted offsite storage. We keep your data while your account exists. After you delete your account, copies can remain in encrypted backups until those backups expire under our normal rotation; they are never restored into the app.
